Some types of feather beds – like a down top feather bed could over maintain a bit too much warmth so you could substitute with a basic baffle box style feather bed. This would provide the same type comfort, while keeping you a bit cooler.
Down pillows are used because of their ability to offer cloud like support and not feel stiff like a sponge which is common for many promotional polyester pillows. We generally advise that down, feather or down and feather pillows can be used year round. If you have not washed your pillow protector recently – now is a good time to keep it fresh and clean with a quick wash. Using a pillow protector will keep you from having to wash your pillows on a consistent basis. Washing a pillow protector is much easier than washing a pillow.
Although this story focuses on down bedding – we do recommend moisture management items like Tencel Lyocell sheets and duvets. These miracle fabrics feel like silk and wash like cotton – all the while offering excellent moisture management. Commonly loved for their ‘cool feeling’ – baby soft fabrics are also great for consumers with psoriasis and eczema.
Tencel Lyocell is also well known for its very eco friendly production process and is generally considered superior to Bamboo fabric. Although they can be pricey – try buying ala carte pillow cases sets and learning about the fabric and then when you love them purchase the sheet sets or duvet sets that use Tencel Lyocell.
